With a change from our ususal routine, Marie, Sheila and I booked a week at The Peveril in the Peak Hotel. Having walked in this area previously there were some areas I wanted to visit again and others that I would enjoy exploring. In line with HF holidays there would be the opportunity to choose from 3 levels of walks each day except for the Free Day when we would explore our own route.
We called at Lyme Park for a short walk on the way to the Hotel and as the second walk was one that we had done not too long ago we did our own route taking in Wetton Mill and Thor's Cave then explored Ilam Park on the way back to the hotel. The free day gave us an opportunity to take in The Roaches and Lud's Church. |
